Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) ended 2016 on a high note as the truckmaker sold 2,965 vehicles in December, 25.4% higher than the 2,365 units sold for the same period in 2015, giving it its highest monthly sales for the year. As for the entire 2016, IPC moved 27,361 vehicles out of its dealerships, a 21.2% increase over the 22,581 units sold for in 2015, to give it its best annual performance.
“Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s record sales performance in 2016 is clearly a benefit coming from a strong domestic economy that inspired consumer confidence and spending,” said IPC President Hajime Koso. “It also mirrors the continued uptick of the entire local automotive industry, which is also enjoying unprecedented results.”
The Isuzu mu-X led IPC’s sales drive in 2016 with 12,657 units being delivered to their owners, topping 2015’s result by 16.1%. Supporting the sales of IPC’s flagship model are the ever-reliable Crosswind with 4,659 units (up by 13.7% over 2015’s figures), and the D-Max, which benefited from equipment and styling updates in the latter part of 2016, with 3,966 units (up by 27.3%).
IPC also noted that the sales of its commercial trucks and buses increased substantially, with the N-Series light-duty commercial trucks allotting for 4,363 units (up by 11%) while its F-, E- and C-Series sold 1,716 units (up by 219%).
“The introduction of changes to models and the sustained promotional and marketing campaigns have all helped in driving customer interest toward the Isuzu brand last year,” Koso added. A strong network of dealerships, as well as excellent after-sales services, also contributed in ensuring that Isuzu was able to maintain its upward trajectory.”
