Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), the car manufacturing business unit of Honda in the Philippines, ended 2016 by breaking its sales figures with 23,199 units sold by the end of the year--a 20% growth when compared to 2015’s figure of 19,315 units. December 2016 also set HCPI’s highest monthly sales record with 2,805 units. For both records, HCPI attributed these to the introduction of the all-new Honda BR-V, the all-new Civic, and the updated City.
Launched in September 2016, the BR-V subcompact crossover had 2,000 reservations and 717 confirmed sales when it became available locally in December 2016. The Civic compact sedan marked 2,500 vehicle sales and was named as the 2016 Car of the Year-Philippines by the Car Awards Group, Inc. With 8,913 units sold for 2016, the City remains as HCPI’s best-selling model in its 15-vehicle lineup.
“On behalf of Honda Cars Philippines, Inc., we would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to our customers for continuously making the brand their preferred choice,” said HCPI President and General Manager Toshio Kuwahara. “We are pleased by the unwavering support as seen in the 2016 sales milestone. This would not be possible without them.”
