When most carmakers update their products, it usually involves a restyled exterior or some nifty upgrades. Not in Jaguar’s case though. For the updated F-TYPE, the British carmaker has come out with a limited-edition model celebrating the new and updated two-seater sports car.
Called the Jaguar F-TYPE 400 SPORT Launch Edition, the car will only be available for a year and packs an uprated version of its supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with its output bumped up from 375hp to 395hp or 400PS, hence the model nomenclature. Complementing the increased power are 380mm front and 376mm rear Super Performance disc brakes with black calipers with the 400 SPORT logo on it, 20-inch wheels in Dark Grey Satin finish, and the Configurable Dynamics system that allows drivers to customize the settings for the throttle, transmission, steerings, and dampers.
For the interior, yellow contrast stitching is used throughout the premium leather interior, with the 400 SPORT logo embroidered onto the headrests. The 400 SPORT branding can also be found on the flat-bottomed steering wheel, black brushed aluminum center console finisher, and the sill treadplates. Also serving as an additional highlight to the cockpit are the anodised aluminum gearshift paddles.
On the outside, the 400 SPORT Launch Edition can be distinguished from other F-TYPE models by the Yellow and Dark Satin Grey 400 SPORT badges on the front and rear which, in turn, complement the choice of Indus Silver, Santorini Black, or Yulong White paint of the car. In addition, a more prominent front splitter, extended side sills, and rear diffuser finished in Dark Satin Grey are added with the Sport Design Pack.
Buyers of the 400 SPORT Launch Edition can choose to have their car with either the rear- or all-wheel drivetrain with all units equipped with the eight-speed Quickshift automatic transmission and mechanical limited-slip differential.
